It's About Time

Photography | Paul Masamo

It's about time I celebrated Valentine’s Day! I haven’t celebrated this day in the last 4 years with Ken. This is our 5th year together and I’m over the moon that we’ll get to spend this day together. Honestly we both don’t care much for this day however this year we’re like little kids who just discovered candy. We’re trying to plan something that is indelible for both of us just in case we don’t spend this day together in another 5 years!

What do people do on Valentine's anyways? I have some ideas I’m playing with at the moment;

  • Get some action: It’s what you’re thinking however this is in outdoor activities. We’re quite active so we would either do quad biking, GP Karting, and the highly unlikely sky diving.

  • Late Night Movies: We love going for late night movies since we don’t party as much.  We mostly go for late night movies to eat an insane amount of caramel popcorn and drink lots of slushes…then we go home full of regrets and calories.

  • Dinner:  Take the time to dress up, look sexy, get my watch to match my clutch purse thanks to the Samsung Gear S2 and then go stuff our faces with all types of food. You know the usual things people in relationships do.

  • Road trips: Taking a road trip and a weekend away from home is one of our favorite things to do. It never gets old and the scenery and location changes every time. We get to have quality time together and we get to take amazing photos of our beautiful country, and I get to take my outfit photos.

This is what I would do an ideal Valentine’s Day, you never know though…this time he may have a surprise romantic trip to the moon planned for us. Who knows? Do share below what you do or what you’d love to do on Valentine’s Day.

    My hubby and i wanted something low key this year so we decided to bring the restaurant experience at home. So i will be cooking dinner for him - He is the chef in our relationship so this is kinda different because i rarely do it, not like this anyway. So i am going all out - Transforming our spare bedroom into a restaurant like setup; jazz music playing in the background, candles, matching dinner plates and whip up that three course meal - starter, main dish and dessert. :-) :-) then conversation, exchange of gifts and whiskey can follow :-)

  2. I'm totally with you about the "not caring much about this day' part...BUT, now that this is the 6th year together n baby is now one year, I think a road trip over the weekend that culminates to Valz will be ideal, different n a good start for us to actually value the time we are together. As you say....you never know! Life is too short to ignore Mr. Cupid aka Lovers' Day. It shouldn't be just another day....

  3. This year my significant other is my DVD collection. It's a Sunday so I'll be catching up on some beloved television. January was an awesome whirlwind! This lady deserves a break!
